Mr Hugh Thomas

Hugh Thomas has had significant experience in the resource sector as a company director, senior financial executive and investment banker working throughout the Asian region, including China, as well as parts of Africa. He has a deep understanding of the complexities that are frequently involved in establishing new projects and in negotiating transactions in culturally diverse jurisdictions.

Mr Thomas was based in Hong Kong for several years in senior positions with JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, returning to Australia in 2011 to take up a senior position with South African investment bank, Investec, in Sydney. Since 2014, Mr Thomas has worked as an independent investment banker and company director, currently based in Perth.

Mr Rui Liu

Mr Rui Liu is 53 years old and has worked in geology and the mineral industry since his graduation from University. He became the Deputy Director of Heilongjiang Geology Mineral Testing Application Research Institute in 1988 and later went to Botswana as Deputy General Manager of CGC Botswana Co., Ltd. He has been General Manager and Chairman of Heilong Group since 2005. He was formerly a Director of Heilongjiang Longxing International Resource Development Group Co. Ltd. He holds the position of Executive Deputy Chairman of the Heilongjiang Mining Industry Association Association.

Mr Qiang Chen

Mr Luo Zhehong has appointed Mr Chen Qiang as his alternate Director. Mr Chen, a resident of Perth, has extensive experience in international commodities trading and private equity investment. In the 1990s, Mr Chen was the Marketing Manager of China Metallurgical Import and Export Company Australia Pty Ltd (CMIEC).

Mr Chen established PT Group, a specialised global trading house, in 1996 and in a decade has built up the company into a well-known iron ore trading company. In 2002, he established Brown Stone Group, a private equity investment company, with interests in Australia and China.  Since 2006, Mr Chen has been the Managing Director of West Minerals Pty Ltd, a company associated with China’s West Resources Co., Ltd.

Dr Ken Maiden

Dr Ken Maiden is a geologist with more than 40 years’ professional experience. After completing a PhD on the Broken Hill silver-lead-zinc deposit, he worked as an exploration geologist in Australia and Indonesia. Then followed ten years as an academic, mainly at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

Returning to Australia, Ken had ten years of mineral exploration experience in northwest Queensland, partly with Mount Isa Mines and partly as a consultant. He then focussed again on southern Africa, establishing a tenement portfolio and exploration programmes for copper in Namibia and Botswana.

Ken is a founding Executive Director of IBML.  He is also a Non-executive Director of Zamia Metals Limited.

Mr Chengliang Wang

Mr Wang is a Professor-level senior engineer with 30 years of experience in China. He has extensive experience in Geology and Mineral Resources. Currently he works as a Director and Chief Geologist in China Kings Resources Group Col, Ltd.

Mr Wang holds a Bachelor Degree in Geology from Chengdu University of Technology and a Master Degree in Engineering  from  Zhejiang University of Technology.

 

 

Mr Shilai Jiang

Non-executive Director

Jiang Shilai, is a surveying and mapping engineer.

From 1987 to 1999, worked in Xianlinbu Molybdenum Mine in Hangzhou and from 2000 to 2008, he was engaged in marketing management in Hangzhou Nobel Group Co., Ltd.  responsible for the sales management of the Southwest region of Nobel Group.

From 2009 to present, he has served as executive deputy general manager of Qinghai West Resources Co., Ltd. and Qinghai West Rare and Precious Metals Co., Ltd., engaged in the management of mining enterprises.

Mr Yichun Wang

Non-Executive Director

Mr Wang has a Bachelor degree in Geological Engineering, Department of Geology, from the Kunming University of Technology, China. He is now the Assistant to General Manager and Company Secretary to the Board of Qinghai West Resources Co.
